Telangana Schools Reopen After Sankranti Break; Attendance Low on First Day

Hyderabad | School Education News

Schools across Telangana reopened today following the conclusion of the Sankranti holidays, marking the return of students and teachers to regular academic activities. The festive vacation, which was extended to accommodate travel and celebrations, officially ended yesterday.

On the first day after reopening, student attendance was observed to be relatively low in many government and private schools. School authorities noted that several students are still returning from their native places, while some parents preferred to send children from the next working day to help them readjust after the long break.

Teachers reported that most institutions conducted orientation sessions, revision classes, and light classroom activities instead of resuming the full syllabus immediately. This approach was adopted to help students smoothly transition back into an academic routine after the festive season.

School managements remain optimistic that attendance will improve steadily over the next few days, with normal classroom strength expected by the end of the week. Academic planners have also assured that the extended holidays will not affect syllabus completion, as teaching schedules and assessments are already planned in advance.

With examinations approaching in the coming months, schools have advised parents to ensure regular attendance from now onwards. The reopening marks an important phase in the academic calendar for students across the state.
